What if you are underestimating yourself?

🤩 Jason Bateman. That’s who I underestimated. If you’d asked me in his “Teen Wolf Too” era if he’d be an actor with longevity and variety, I’d have said no.

But here I am. 🎧 Listening to his voice as a character in Zootopia. After listening to him and his actor friends on their popular podcast Smartless. 🎙️ Oh, and don’t forget Ozark. 📺 The man has had quite the career. I’m glad I was wrong about what was in store for him. 🙌

Makes me wonder who else I’ve inadvertently underestimated. 🤔 And who has done that to me.

And reminds me that merely seeing more for someone than they see for themselves can change their trajectory. 💫

I get to do that all the time in coaching—open a new window, door, or hallway in the mind of a client and ask them if they’d like to explore that alternate version of themself and their future. When they take me up on it, it’s magic. ✨

I do this because I know our perception of “possible” is shaped by the past. That naturally makes it very, very limited. 📉 There are infinite possibilities that stretch waaaaaaaaay beyond what any of us have done up till now. 🌌 Infinite. ♾️

The trick to becoming a master cultivator of possibility is habituating this thought experiment: What if anything was possible (for me, for them, for this situation)? 🌟

Try it. What do you have to lose? 💪
